WHAT'S ON?

UPCOMING EVENTS AT HOLY TRINITY LEICESTER

Friday 22nd February

7:00pmHTL Worship Academy

Worship is offering all of our love to God in all that we do – it is so much more than singing.  But when we come together we love to praise and worship God with song and at Holy Trinity we do this passionately and creatively.  Our worship team is an exciting place to be as they grow and develop in this ministry.  One new development is the HTL Worship Academy: a school for worship leaders with the purpose of empowering, teaching and equipping worship leaders. Here you will have an opportunity to learn more about the theology of worship, how to grow as a worship leader, and learn techniques and secrets that will help you as a worship leader and worshiper.  We will meet on Fridays from 7pm to 9.30pm from 25th January.

For more information contact Pedro Neto (pneto@htl.church).

22 January – There Can’t Be Just One True Religion?

26 February – How Could A Good God Allow Suffering?

26 March - Science Has Disproved God!

23 April - You Can’t Take The Bible Literally

Wednesday 27th February

7:00pmAlpha

Alpha is an opportunity to explore the big questions about life and faith. Spread over 10 weekday evenings, you can join other people with similar questions in a safe environment. An Alpha evening includes eating food together, watching a video and then having time to discuss. It might be the most important adventure you'll ever start.

8:00pmThe Character Course (Central)

In the Spring term our Sunday teaching and small groups will be following The Character Course.  At Holy Trinity we want to be a community where we learn to live out our faith in Christ in ways that connect with the reality of life.  This is a professionally produced course which is aimed at helping us to learn how to grow stronger in our character and mental and emotional health – an area of real challenge for many of us.  The course brings together psychological principles and practices, with Biblical truth and spirituality.  Each session is 90-minutes long and involves a short film, a discussion of relevant biblical passages and a practice (usually a ten-minute prayer exercise) which you will be asked to perform daily between sessions. The content covers eight character qualities: learning, hope, love, forgiveness, gratitude, humour, persistence and curiosity. These eight character strengths have been selected due to their strong association with wellbeing, their theological significance and the existence of evidence-based interventions. And our experience of this material will be fed back to the writers who are researching this area of human life.  If you are not in a Mission Shaped Community then we will be offering the chance to join a central group at Holy Trinity on Wednesday evenings at 8pm, starting 30 January. Enquire via the church office.
